Old world charm in an idyllic setting by a stream lined by mangroves and surrounded by coconut plantations. The property itself is big with the hugh wooden mansion exuding an old world charm. We were upgraded to a huge corner room on the 1st floor with some antique furnitures and a surprisingly modern bathroom. The food cooked and served here is authentic Thalassery cuisine, and tasted incredibly good. The service was excellent, with the manager helpfully suggesting some lesser known places to visit nearby which greatly enhanced the experience of our stay. A highly recommended place to stay if you are looking for peace and quiet and some old world charm.

Heritage 1866 in Thalassery, Kerala, is a charming 158-year-old homestay nestled in lush greenery. The historical property, once owned by a freedom fighter, offers a peaceful atmosphere with traditional Kerala architecture and elegant antiques. The spacious rooms and serene surroundings make it a perfect retreat. Our day trip to Thalassery included Tellicherry Fort, Gundert Bungalow, Thalassery beach, Muzhappilangad beach, Odathil Palli mosque, Ramaswami temple, Oldest church, and cricket ground etc. Our homestay arranged an able guide Praveesh who showed us the best of Thalassery. The highlight of our stay was the authentic Thalassery cuisine, specially Thalassery Biryani and Malabari Snacks. We also had the chance to experience the local Theyyam ritual. Whether you're seeking history, nature, or warm hospitality, Heritage 1866 delivers a unique and memorable stay.
